Did you know that talktwoway.com is located in Charlotte North Carolina? That's right, if you are in the Charlotte area and need service on two way radios you will not find a better service team than our shop. We have everything from Project Management to a team of Engineers that are more than capable of repairing, designing and implementing two way radio systems. Our shop is located at 4800 Reagan Dr Charlotte NC 28206.

The Charlotte location however is only 1 of many facilities in North Carolina. We also have locations in Raleigh, Wilmington, Franklin, Greenville and coming soon Jacksonville NC. Motorola CP110 MURS Model (Another FCC License Free Radio)

We wanted to tell you about the Motorola CP110 License Free radio today. The CP110 models are a great option for anyone that needs basic communication in a smaller facility. When we say "smaller" we are talking under 200,000 sq ft. The CP110 MURS model is license free, this means a savings of $300-$550 dollars which is what a FCC license can typically cost a radio user. These models come with a high capacity lith-ion battery and a 1 year warranty fully supported by us. MURS frequencies are in the VHF spectrum and there are a few limitations of the radio that is license free. The biggest limitation would be that the radio has a permanent mounted 6 inch antenna attached to it, this is not removable. This means if the antenna is broken then you may be looking at a radio repair rather than just an antenna replacement. Other than that the CP110 MURS is a great option for a basic radio. Happy Hump Day Followers! We wanted to talk a little time today to discuss Motorola Talkabout Radio Range. Motorola Talkabouts are perfect for family use and recreation. Most of the talkabout models run off of a rechargeable battery but there are some such as the Motorola FV300 that allow users to run it off of AAA batteries. This makes it convenient because you can always find AAA batteries anywhere.
The range of talkabouts can be confusing and sometimes a little misleading, especially if you have not used these types of radios before. The Motorola FV300 models for example are up to 10 miles range. This is best case scenario (mountain to valley). It has been our experience that most users get about 1/4-1/2 mile range in an urban area where there are buildings and trees in the way. Since Motorola talkabout radios are line of sight this means that the more things you have between you and the other user, the worse the coverage.
In short, the radios are great for occasional use as long as you do not mind the limited range that most of them have. Thanks for reading!!
