Vertex has recently announced a new line of batteries and chargers for their radios. We wanted to help provide some insight as to how this works. If you have an older vertex charger for the VX231 or VX350 radios seen Here then this charger will not work with the new universal batteries. The new VX231 and VX350 universal battery charging system will use this battery and the new universal charger seen here
If you have purchased a Vertex radio in the past couple of months you should not have any issues since the new radios all come with universal chargers and batteries. You may run into problems however if you have an older style Vertex charger and you purchase the new universal batteries. Are you confused yet? The advantage of this new Universal charger system is that you can have 1 model charger that fits several different Vertex radios, making it easy to manage your fleet if you have more than 1 type of Vertex Radio. Thanks for reading.
